- Benadryl: Works fast, lasts 4-6 hours. Can be very sedating.
- Claritin: Works within 3 hours, lasts at least 24 hours. Not very strong. Can be sedating in some people.
- Zyrtec: Works within 1 hour, lasts at least 24 hours. Stronger than Claritin. Can be sedating. Should be taken at nighttime.
- Allegra: Works within 1 to 3 hours, lasts at least 24 hours. Stronger than Claritin. Not very sedating. Safe to take in daytime.
- Xyzal: Dimer of Zyrtec. Works within 1 hour, lasts at least 24 hours. Stronger than Claritin. Less sedating than Zyrtec.
